Globally, the prophetic is under massive attack. Not only in the United States, where we’ve seen damaging and unhelpful prophetic models displayed over the past years. But also in my home continent of Africa, where many are using the prophetic for their own selfish gain.
So, is the prophetic still relevant for our world today? All too often the Church has reacted, rather than responded to unhealthy models of the spiritual gifts—at best dialing down on their importance, and at worst refusing to teach them entirely. I don’t want to make that mistake when it comes to prophecy.
It’s time to see clarity returned to the prophetic.
